Yesterday, at 6pm and 10pm the spot created by Randy McIlvoy with KPRC Channel 2 the local NBC affiliate aired. Someone even told me it ran again this morning. If you missed it, I will post a video here as soon as I can locate one. Also, Randy indicated he will likely run a longer version on Sunday, September 1. It just goes to show how slow the sports schedule is right now.
The Tomball Potpourri ran a follow-up article about the 1000 Oaks ski event yesterday. It was humbling to read the quote included from Mike Suyderhoud. “It was an eye opening experience to ski with Mike Royal,” he said. “The fact that he can ski at that level without being able to see deserves much praise.”
Suyderhoud actually skied at the venue in , in Vichy, France where the 2009 Disabled World Championships will be held September 3 – 6 about the time I was born. Click here for information about the Yacht Club de Vichy.
Yesterday, Randy McIlvoy with KPRC Channel 2 the local NBC affiliate came out to 1000 Oaks to conduct an interview. Randy spent a good amount of time interviewing several of us and filming some skiing. The Royal Family Boat Crew might appear a member short as Eric stood still for the camera only for about 15 seconds. Then, he went back and jumped in the lake.
On August 10, I have the privilege of skiing with Mike Suyderhoud, a living legend in the sport of water skiing. Suyderhoud is a 5 time overall World Champion and first round inductee into the Water Skiing Hall of Fame.
Stop by, if you are around the 1000 Oaks community (www.1000-oaks.com) in Magnolia, Texas at 5:00 pm on Monday the 10th.
